The Reef

Coral Trout are caught along the Great Barrier Reef in areas where fishing is permitted.

A very large part of the reef is permanently protected. Each fish is caught one at a time by handline with one hook. This means there’s no unwanted catch. There is also a strict quota system, that limits the amount of fish that can be caught each year. This protects the future of the species, and the future of our fishing community.
